We're Brit + Eric Sastrawidjaya!
Here to help you create the outdoor living space where special moments are cherished.
Together we'll go on a journey to curate a garden that brings you joy and allows you to feel connected to yourself, your community and this Earth. Along the way, we'll develop a sustainable landscape that attracts and provides food for pollinators, puts your stormwater to work and produces something yummy to eat.
OVER A DECADE OF LANDSCAPE DESIGN
AND COUNTLESS HAPPY FOLKS
(Here are some words from a few)
"Brit did design and drawings, and supervised all installation for a large scale backyard relandscape. This included irrigation, plant selection, soil amendment choices, hardscape design, construction supervision (fencing, pergola, water feature, etc. She was knowledgeable, professional, resourceful, tireless and extremely conscientious. Above all, she was creative and the results show. We still love our garden every time we are out in it. It gets better every year. "
1. QUICK CHAT
Let's hop on the phone to talk about your vision, style, timeline, phasing goals and budget.
2. PROJECT WALKTHROUGH
We'll walk through your garden, talk about how your garden could layout, organize a game plan and assess how we can accomplish your goals.
3. DESIGN PROPOSAL
After our walk through, you'll receive a written proposal for the design phase of the project.
4. CONCEPT DESIGN
At our first design meeting, we'll review a concept board and some preliminary drawings about the look, feel and material or plant selection for the project.
5. DESIGN REVIEW I
With your first version of construction documentation, we'll review the documents together while walking through the project. We'll critique any pieces that need adjustments and we'll update our drawings.
6. DESIGN REVIEW II
Your final design drawings will be presented. Hopefully, we've hit the nail on the head. We'll adjust any minor changes and get the documents over to the construction team.
7. CONSTRUCTION BIDDING
We'll hand the docs over to the construction team and get the bids ready to present to you.
8. IT'S GO TIME
It's time to build! We'll have an approved bid, set of documents and get your construction lined up.
DESIGN PHASE TIMELINE
6-8 weeks from time client signs a contract to end of the design process
DESIGNING FROM AFAR
We're offering both virtual design services for our Colorado and California projects these days. The virtual design process is just as great. I think the biggest perk about virtual design is that we get to see each other's smiles through Zoom chats rather than eyes only under masks.
HOW IT WORKS //
We'll have an initial Zoom phone conversation where we chat about your dreams and vision while you walk around and show us your garden.
We'll write you a proposal and when approved we'll move forward with design.
If you're in Portland we'll schedule a time to take your measurements with health precautions. If you're out of the Portland area, you'll take your own measurements and send them to us via email.
We'll have our usual meetings via Zoom including
-Concept Review Meeting
-Design Documentation Meeting 1
-Design Documentation Final Review Meeting
You'll get your plan set and be ready to construct your garden.
We are able to provide landscape design virtually for clients in Oregon, California, Washington, Montana and Colorado.
